Pole Creek Golf Club is Colorado's best public golf course. The course has won many awards and year after year it is consistently the best public course that can be had in the Rocky Mountain region.
Pole Creek Golf Club in Grand County, Colorado, near the Winter Park ski Resort, is a golf course made up of 3 nine hole courses. The Ridge is a very hill and steep nine holes that keeps you guessing all the time. The Meadow is, as it states, a meadow course with a stream and a couple of lake / ponds that run through the nine holes. The Ranch is a little mixture of the previous two. A little hilly and a little in the meadow with some water here and there. All three are surrounded by lodge pole pine trees with stunning views looking up at the west side of the Continental Divide.
This past year a new club house and pro shop were constructed with the new Bistro 28 bar / restaurant. The course also switched from electric carts to gas carts that fit the hilly nature of the course much better. Here are some of the rewards that the club has won in the last few years:
2006 – Zagat Survey – Best course to play in the Rocky Mountain Region including CO, ID, MT, NV, UT & WY.
2005 – Avid Golfer Magazine:
1. 5th best course to bring out of town guests
2. Best Finishing hole # 9 Ridge
3. 2nd Place – Best Public Mountain Course
4. 3rd Place – Best Golf Course in the $ 50- $ 99 range
5. 4th Place – Most Scenic Course (public or Resort)
6. 3rd Place – Most under Golf Course (public or resort)

2003 – Rocky Mountain News – Top Mountain Golf Course – Top of the Rockies Award

Pole Creek Golf Resort is Grand County Recreations jewel. The Fraser Valley Recreation District manages the course as a prime public course should be managed. The course will test your skills but is forgiving enough to make it a fun golf outing for ball hitters of all ages, skill and desires.
So come up to the Colorado Rockies and enjoy one of Colorado's hidden treasures of a golf course. You will not be disappointed.
